Honoring the Unsung Jewish Hero of the American Revolution
As we commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial year, we are reminded of the many patriots who sacrificed so much to form this diverse nation—not only the highly celebrated Christians and Deists identified as Founding Fathers, but also a lesser-known, yet no less consequential Jewish American patriot and freedom fighter, Haym Salomon. From the outset, Jewish patriots like Salomon have played an essential role in American history.
Without Haym Salomon’s invaluable contributions as a Son of Liberty, a spy, and a co-financier of the Revolution, the American victory at Yorktown, the last major battle of the war, and the resultant British surrender might never have happened.
Join Governor Josh Shapiro and very special guests in remembrance of Haym Solomon.
